U.S. business & immigration counsel for Europe-based clients

Services

E-2 Treaty Investor Visa

The E-2 visa allows entrepreneurs and investors from treaty countries to live and operate a business in the United States based on a substantial U.S. investment. I advise European founders and investors on E-2 eligibility, investment structuring, and the full application process.

L-1 Intracompany Transfer Visa

The L-1 visa enables companies to transfer executives, managers, or specialized employees from a foreign office to a related U.S. entity. I work with European businesses establishing or expanding a U.S. presence, including new-office L-1s and existing intracompany transfers.

U.S. Corporate Formation

U.S. entity formation in Delaware and other states for European founders entering the U.S. market. I handle entity selection, formation, ownership structuring, and the supporting compliance work — including coordination with E-2 and L-1 strategies where applicable.

U.S. Compliance Management

Ongoing compliance for foreign-owned U.S. entities — BOI filings, annual reports, registered-agent coordination, and corporate governance. Designed for European founders who need their U.S. company maintained properly without managing it themselves.

Family-Based Immigration

Spouse (CR-1/IR-1) and fiancé(e) (K-1) visas for U.S. citizens and their European partners. I help couples evaluate the right pathway and handle the full process from petition through visa issuance.

How I work

I work directly with clients from start to finish in English, German, or Spanish. My practice is selective, hands-on, and built around clear communication, responsiveness, and practical judgment. Questions are answered promptly, and matters are handled without unnecessary layers or delays.

Valstone Law was founded by Hernando Montoya, a New York-licensed attorney who advises international clients on U.S. legal matters, with a focus on business and family immigration, as well as U.S. market entry strategy. Having spent over a decade living in Europe, where he has worked as an entrepreneur, he understands both the legal and practical realities of relocation, immigration, and operating businesses internationally.
